How to come out of challenges of modern century

 

One of the greatest attacks of modern era of Science and Technology is on morality, ethics and moral values. Morals refer to human behaviors of which morality is an outcome. And values are those beliefs which guide human behavior. Morality, ethics and moral values are interconnected and politics has a great hold and ascendancy on all these three terms. 

 Earlier than 19th century, inculcation of morality and ethics also used to be the greatest objective of science education. But with the advancement of new era of expeditious revolutions, the very aspect of science associated with morality and ethics disoriented. So, regrettably, new epoch of science and technology has nothing to do with morality and ethics.

 Parental concerns regarding the effects of social and economic changes on their child‘s everyday life have accelerated. Parents are extremely concerned as how to educate their children to face an intimidating future which is just incredible. Unfortunately, we have entered in an era dominated by non-appearance of spiritual beliefs. No doubt, the presence of moral beliefs creates panoramic colors in life and their absence makes life dull, drab and monotonous. A life bereft of such beliefs is as despondent as a life under the blistering sky. 

The most authoritative feature of the challenges given by the modern century is lack of time. Modern technology has shut every person in the shell of his own personality. In this encapsulation, there is no room for any other person. There is no adherence to moral norms and social values. The so-called morality of the man has made him fallen down from the heights of humanity. Kindness, generosity, hospitality, support and altruism have abolished. Man has lowered himself down from all the levels of humanity.

 Ethics and morality are the emblems of a breathing society as dead civilizations are elapsed forever. Youth is a great asset for any society. By entrenching moral and ethical values in our kids, we can play a great role in redeeming our society from corrosion.

 One of the most important means to insert worthy moral values in our kids is to be a role model for them. Children copy the elders around them. So, before preaching anything good to child, we must model it in our own life. Then, kids adore hearing stories and best moral experiences of their elders may be shared to them in the form of moral stories. Besides, if child does something morally upright, he/she must be highly cherished and prized. 

In addition to, elders must encourage their kids to share with them their whole daily routine. In such healthy discussions, children must be taught as how good moral values beautify and embellish life. And last but not the least, there should be a great and proper check on children’s television and internet activities. It should be ensured that child watches those types of shows and programs which are morally rich and prolific. 

Thus, the essence of whole discussion is to instill such strong moral and ethical beliefs in our youth which may prove a weapon to combat the challenges posed by modern century. Youth is our future and by providing solid and healthy guidelines to them we can ensure a morally safe and sound society.
